Shrek 2 has as much humor, talent, and fun as the original classic, and almost as much heart. The story continues where we left it in the first 'Shrek'. Fiona and Shrek have been married and now they have to visit Fiona's parents. Of course Donkey is with them on their trip to the parents. On the way they meet Puss in Boots who travels with them. When they arrive with the King and Queen they are not very welcome since both Shrek and Fiona are ogres. Danger comes from Prince Charming and especially his mother, the Fairy Godmother. Fiona was promised to Prince Charming and therefore he and his mother try to convince the King to betray Shrek. With the help of Donkey, Puss in Boots and a lot of other fairy tale creatures they must be able to bring everything to a happy end. The animation is excellent, though not surprisingly. The real charm is in the story. There is so much cleverness, creativity, and humor to leave you smiling at the end.
Shrek 2 has a complete change of style from the first film. It is still a good movie for children and adults alike, but the humour is a little more crude this time, even though it will still most likely go over their heads. The humour is actually kind of lacking though compared to the first one. I think the movie focuses too much time on Fiona and her parents rather than Shrek and Donkey. The dramatic scenes might kind of bog the film down too.
